Dataset type
This dataset that contains event based data for species which may include sampling information
Description
This data is gathered by passive sampling of sounds using audiomoths in 30 sites in SW Ethiopia. All the sites are dominated by coffee but with different intensities of management. The bird sounds were identified by experts. They also noted sounds of three primate species that are not used in the published paper but reported here. Finally, the bat sounds were analyzed statistically to separate different sonotypes, but we were not able to taxonomically identify them. We collected data on herbivory on coffee and coffee yield and a number of environmental variables that could possibly explain the variation in biodiversity or the relationships between the biodiversity variables and herbivory and yield. All this associated data that could be coupled to a site is also published here along with the species records. If you are interested in the raw recordings please contact us. See the published paper, Tack et al. 2025 in Basic and Applied Ecology, for more details on methods and the data.
