Life Science Identifier (LSID):

LSIDs are persistent, location-independent,resource identifiers for uniquely naming biologically significant resources including species names, concepts, occurrences, genes or proteins, or data objects that encode information about them. To put it simply, LSIDs are a way to identify and locate pieces of biological information on the web.

Description

This dataset provides species occurrence records from a biodiversity survey of low-trophic aquaculture sites cultivating blue mussels (Mytilus edulis), carried out within the COOL BLUE project. Records were obtained using two complementary monitoring approaches: eDNA metabarcoding, based on water samples and Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures (ARMS) bulk samples, and baited remote underwater video (BRUV).

For the BRUV approach, the associated video data were also used to train a machine learning model to identify the recorded taxa. Further information on the methodology and procedure is available here.
